In MacBook Air when I click new folder in the Finder, the new folder isn't blank - it already contains the files on my desktop. Is there a fix?

You should see a folder that has a temporary name "untitled folder". Is that not happening? If not, your Finder is somehow set to open an existing folder. Is the folder a known folder with your files in it?

When I click new folder on MacBook Air, it shows the files on my desktop.
