I have an iPhone 11 and my friend has a Samsung phone. I’m able to receive his messages but he isn’t receiving my messages. He’s able to receive my gifs but not texts. How can I fix this? This started yesterday.

Is your friend a former Apple product user? He must deregister iMessage as follows:
Deregister iMessage on your iPhone or online - Apple Support
