How do I get media from Itunes to sync with ipad air 5th generation since it cannot direct connect by USB?

After initial connection, you can synchronise via WiFi - without needing to subsequently make a direct USB connection - which I had presumed from your initial post was your intention.


If this is not the case - and your computer fails to recognise your iPad when connected, try using a different USB port on your computer. Otherwise, this support page may be helpful with troubleshooting connection issues:

Perhaps your connection difficulties are due to an incompatible charging/data cable? Your iPad was presumably supplied with a USB-C to USB-C cable - along with a USB-C Power Adapter. If your Windows PC has the older USB Type-A port connections, you simply require a certified USB Type-A to USB-C cable. For example:
