After deleting thousands of emails the storage hasn't changed. Why?

After deleting thousands of emails on my iphone the storage taken up hasn't reduced even though I've done this over a couple of days. Can anyone help me. TIA

  1. Make sure you are deleting them and not archiving them. If they are archived, you can find them in all mail.
  2. Go to your trash and delete them from there too. Otherwise they will probably stay for about a month.
  3. If that doesn’t clear it, try to delete the Mail app, and reinstall it from the App Store.
