I'm new to final cut pro and I'm using the channel EQ on a 32 bit audio file. There is a button called pre analyze that is supposed to show a sound wave of the audio file as it is playing so that you can see the highs and lows in the wave form. When i click the pre analyze button, there is no wave form. I can hear the audio playing but no visual of the wave from. How do I get it to work?

Did you try deleting preferences? Hold ⌥ ⌘ as you double click the library you want to open to launch the application. A dialog appears asking you if you want to Delete Preferences. If you don't do this while double-clicking your library, the application will open a default Untitled library.
Does it work with 16 and 24 bit files? Can you upload a the file or one like it to somewhere like WeTransfer for Dropbox to test?

Be cautious - a 32 bit file (before gain correction) can be extremely loud!

They look super loud in FCP.
I see the analyzer waveform in FCP when the 32-bit float audio is playing.
When working with 32bit source audio files, I drop on the Audio Gain effect and drop the level -30db . . . and then adjust it to get to the level needed.
