There are whole areas of apps that I consider sketchy. Cryptocurrency, for instance, is wall-to-wall scams and fraud. VPN apps are too often privacy-diminishing and for little or no security benefit. Some of the available “system maintenance” apps—add-on anti-virus apps, add-on cleaning apps, etc—can be problematic at best. Some of the password apps and “secret” storage apps have disappeared with little or no warning, leaving their users without access to their passwords or without their secrets.
But with some app purchases, the buyer doesn’t even want to hear about these responses.
As for your own security and data privacy, consider an update to iOS 15.6.1, as earlier versions of iOS are known to have issues.
