MacBook Air 2014

Is it possible to upgrade the software and GB on this? or should I just buy a new one?

That MacBook Air is limited to macOS Big Sur and is not supported by macOS Monterey nor the upcoming macOS Ventura, and memory upgrades are not an option. Storage upgrades can be available. Replacement? That is solely your question to answer.
