Unable to reinstall macOS Big Sur on a MacBook Pro.

Been trying to reinstall macOSBigSur on our daughters charter school MacBook Pro after factory reset and it seems to be giving me any& every excuse, so to speak….something that should have take 15 minutes is taking hours:(

….suggestions would be appreciated anyone whose had sim prob and success! Or has solution:)

That may be a managed computer. If so the school's IT personnel must do all installs if so. Check into that possibility.


If that proves not to be the case, then please provide specific examples of error message wording or other alerts that stops you form installing.


Example: If you see a message about a file being damaged, it only means the mac OS Big Sur installer found an older deauthorized version of itself on the computer. It will be in the Applications folder; deleting the old verison fixes the issue. Best to use Safari for macOS system downloads and installs.


Please remember we are you fellow end users with no way to see, touch, nor remotely access your computer. We must rely 100% on details you provide

You are right, lack of detail doesn’t help-apologies


Has already sought various utube videos

and school It personal gave go ahead and even sent more videos,


Heres some of responses

1Failed to activate device

2The operation couldn’t be completed, permission denied.

3 Failed to download required installer asset, (Updude….@…..zip)<photo clarity was unclear on snapshot of response>

:(

4The recovery server could not be contacted.

5 Down loading the installer build manifest failed.


Dont know if that will help.

Seems like toying…. All the responses.

I am not a techie though
