I just want to add my debit card

That should be relatively painless, depending on your financial institution.

You can add a card using the wallet app.

Selecting the plus button in the upper right corner.

Then selecting the type of card you would like to add.

Fill in the information, if your debit card is compatible it will show on your list of usable cards.
