What model of watch is it and what version of WatchOS is it running?.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried?.
What errror messages are you receiving?.
Has this watch ever been paired to another phone?(Very important).
Ah! yes, it was paired with a previous iPhone that broke and was replaced. Both were/are iPhone 13pro. The watch is model A2294 version 8.7. I tried pairing both automatically and manually. I reset the watch and deleted and re-uploaded the app on the iPhone.
Did you unpair the watch from the old phone first like this;

Should I erase the Apple Watch from my current account?
Yes because that will remove the activation lock and free the watch up to pair with your new phone,follow the steps that I posted earlier.

I see that the Go find" doesn't recognize my Apple Watch
Thanks, but as said, iCloud/go to find doesn't find the watch. neither does it appear on the devices list on the iPhone. where do I erase it?
Have you tried restarting both the iPhone and the Apple Watch? And also check that Bluetooth is turned on on both.
