Mail stuck in Outbox
I have recently developed a problem with Apple mail hanging up in Outbox. This is on iMac running Monterey 12.5. Help

This will involve checking for status messages to see if there may be a connection-related issue, an account issue, etc. As the page notes it may also help to try removing and re-adding the account. The linked page helps to also include the following guidance on that:
If you’re unsure whether messages you want to keep are still on the mail server, move or copy them to a mailbox stored on your Mac (the mailbox appears in the On My Mac section in the Mail sidebar) before you remove the account in Mail.
