My old iPhone won't update

I need to update this phone to use it for the time being my other is out of state. It won't let me resume update in settings -general-update it's an older iOS product but I'm sure it has the capability to do much more then it has been.

Go to Settings > General > About and see what model it is. If it's a 6 or older, you won't be able to update beyond 12.5.5.
