My watch will not charge or turn on why

My watch was charging the other day and I just happened to look over and I saw that it had a temperature warning so I hurried up and took it off of the charger that came with the watch and it was hot to touch and so was my watch and now it does not work at all it will not turn on and it will not charge anybody have a clue what I could do
