iMovie edit Title Text broken?

I have added the title over the image and then double clicked on the title

I can see the cursor change to an edit cursor, but I can't see what I am typing

What is going on? This seems crazy....I must be doing something wrong. This should be an easy WYSIWYG text editor right?

The text box should be a blue color in order to receive text.

If that’s not happening, or it won’t receive text, possibly it is caused by a corrupt preference. Try deleting/resetting preferences. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and deleting preferences from the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your original library to get back to your projects.
