How to use gift cards added to my Apple account?

I added gift cards to my Apple Account, what do I need to do to use them. I have iCloud storage and AppleTV on my account, will those charges automatically be deducted from the gift cards. Is there anything I need to do for those charges to be deducted from the money on the Apple account
