I’m transferring files from my old MacBook Pro to a new one using migration. Even after 16 hours, it appears to have stopped transferring after 100000+ documents. What’s the best thing to do?

Force a shutdown by holding down the Power key until the Mac shuts down. Then power back up and the process should continue to completion.

I did exactly that, but it did not return to complete the transfer. But when I opened the new Mac everything seemed to be transferred. So I’m happy. Thank you!
