water damage on cell and iPhone got wet difference

how can u tell if u got a water not completely sealed against humidity or water?

yeah i know its water resistant not waterproof N never my cell got wet before! Thats the weird thing… just this once washing my hands Fell in the sink... i ll understand if it was submerge etc! But it wasnt! n w this only one time tye battery was extremely hot to the touch n never turned on again. Went to apple store n had to pay 600 for a replacement. Which didnt sound good cause at the time i bought it i paid in full for the warranty! N still 600 more? Said no way.. cell phone had to be defective! Saddly.. apple says… water damage no coverage.. but how can we know if they are defective….? If theres no way you pour them water, n if they dont work anymore apple will tell you water damage! ? Not covered! Lol
