How do I reset/clear the recent files in the iOS files app?

Deleting files is explained more in depth here: Delete a file or recover a file that you deleted from the Files app - Apple Support. It explains: "To delete a file, select it and tap the Delete button. If you delete files from the iCloud Drive folder on one device, they are automatically deleted on your other devices, too. iCloud Drive removes the files from every device that you're signed in to with the same Apple ID."

There is not a way to clear the Recents section without actually deleting the file itself. Using another file will overwrite the top spot, so you could conceivably do that until only what you want visible is in the list.
