MacBook Pro repair delay?

I took my MacBook Pro 16 in to an apple store to get it fixed for water damage. I’m pretty sure the internal hardware got pretty messed up, and I received an email saying they are diagnosing the issue. However, it’s been 10 days and I’ve gotten no other updates. Is this normal? Are there part shortages right now or is my laptop just really messed up and they are taking a long time to fix it?
