Blurred edges in Pages Frames

It was a mistake to remove "blurred edges" from Frames in Pages . . . is there a way to restore this feature rather than using a third-party online app?

Actually, internal to Pages v12.1, Apple provides roughly 257 frames but only gives the user access to less than a dozen in the Pages interface. Even internally, there is no blurred edge frame as there was in Pages '09 v4.3. The only option left for you to achieve this effect is an external image editor.

I posted a response to another request for this in June 2022. Same solution works in Pages. One can also do this feathered edges effect using the free GIMP image editor, and rhere are undoubtedly plenty of YouTube videos supporting how to feather image edges with this tool.
