Text messages on iPad

My iPad isn’t receiving texts. My iPhone shows my cell phone number but there’s nowhere to enter it on my iPad under Send & Receive.

Got it, thanks for the info.

On your iPad, open the settings app > tap your name at the top of the list, tap the ‘Name, Phone Numbers, Email’ option > tap ‘Edit’ beside ‘Contactable At’, > tap ‘Add email or phone number’ then add your phone number.

Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help:

  • First try turning iMessage off and on again in settings > iMessage. Then configure send and receive again
  • Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID
  • You may see an option called ‘Text Message Forwarding’ under the send and receive option, tap the text message forwarding option and make sure your iPad is enabled
  • Make sure both your iPhone and iPad are on the latest software update
  • Restart your iPhone and iPad
