I cannot use the Canon MG2922 printer with my new MacBook Pro

How do I set-up a CANON MG2922? The set-up from canon is not compatible.

Hi,

How are you trying to connect the printer (USB or Wi-Fi)?

In both cases, an appropriate driver is needed. The latest printer driver download via Canon's support page is the MG2900 series CUPS Printer Driver Ver.16.40.1.0 (Mac) from 10/25/21. It is said to support macOS Monterey (12), but (since it is an early file) nothing is mentioned about 12.x versions.

Be careful when downloading drivers from the Internet. Make sure that you are connected to an official web site of the printer manufacturer, or download from Apple (when applicable).

A special setup application may not be suitable for Mac. If possible, try a manual setup. For example, if you want to connect to a Wi-Fi router (and the router supports it), try WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), which may make things a bit easier.

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)
