keyboard protector or heat keeper?

Hello! Since purchasing my MBP 16" I've been using a cover/protector on the keyboard but now I'm wondering - is that actually preventing heat from escaping and possibly causing issues later on? Is the keyboard a vent area for the MBP?

Protecting MacBook keyboard Hello everyone, i recently purchased a M2 15” MacBook Air. This is my very first MacBook, or personal laptop. I want to know how i can protect my keyboard from wearing out from repetitive typing, although i have seen people use key keyboard covers, but i have heard that it damages your screen when you close it. I was fixing to get stickers to put on it but that would also protect it from dust, or cat hair. Does anyone have any products or anything to suggest with getting this issue resolved, or any experience with some keyboard covers? Thank you greatly for whoever replies!

Hard Shell/Keyboard Cover on MacBook Air M2 I just got a MacBook for Christmas as well as a hard shell case for the bottom and top and a rubber keyboard cover, I have seen mixed reviews as to if this is good for the MacBook or if it could damage the hinges and make them weaker over time. I also heard that the keyboard cover and the shell case could cause problems with the computer venting properly. I am willing to do whatever I need to do to make sure that my MacBook stays in the best condition possible but I don't really know because I've seen so many different things. Please let me know what I should do.

Yes to both questions: Keep your Mac notebook within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support.

Don’t put anything over the keyboard.

Anything covering the keys will also damage the display: Using a camera cover, palm rest, or keyboard cover on a Mac notebook - Apple Support
