Using other brand of bluetooth earphone

Is it okay to use other brand of blue tooth earphone to my iPhone? If yes, does it affect/reduces the battery/overall performance of my phone?

Bluetooth is pretty much Bluetooth.

It will use power, but battery life and related will not appreciably differ across any wireless audio vendor.

Newer Bluetooth standards do use less power than older Bluetooth.

And none of this will effect iPhone performance.

The Apple Bluetooth devices are power-efficient with the device local battery, which may be part of the confusion here.

The other end of the Bluetooth connection over on the iPhone and its battery will show negligible battery differences.
