iPhone unavailable

My iPhone has been displaying "iPhone unavailable" for over 1 week now. Screen lock passcode entered accidentally wrong in pocket. (after an update screen would turn on and allow for pocket dialling)

Will apple charge me for this ?

I have tried connecting to iTunes but recovery failed after multiple attempts.

Seems I'm at a dead end.

I am the only user of this phone.

Have proof of purchase from brand new (iphone11)

Out of warranty now apparently

iPhone 11, iOS 15

If you have an Apple Store near you, you can make a Genius Bar appointment. There's no charge for them to look at the phone, even if it's not under warranty. If it's some little fix, they most likely won't charge you. But, they will let you know before doing anything what the cost would be.
