iCloud Drive on cellular data network

Using my cellphone (AKA mobile phone) connected to internet through 5G data (in Spain) I can see the files and folders in Files > iCloud Drive but can’t download them for viewing. The download sticks permanently on ‘waiting’.

There is no problem with Mail or Safari, for example, via 5G data.

Also, I can view files on iCloud Drive with no problem when connected through WiFi.

In Settings > Cellular/mobile data I have both WiFi assist and iCloud Drive turned on.

I did read that. The files update to iCloud Drive fine, no problem. It's simply that they won't download for viewing via a 5G cellular data network. I can see them in the Files folder, including the thumbnails, but they refuse to open.

If I connect via a WiFi network everything works as expected.

I don't understand why the nature of the internet connection would make any difference to iCloud Drive!

Thanks for responding, but there's nothing in the Support notes that explains this problem.

In short - if I'm connected to internet by a WiFi network, everything's fine. If I'm connected to internet by a mobile data network, iCloud Drive downloads don't happen.

Why does it make any difference to iCloud Drive? Also, incidentally, the App Store behaves similarly.

Did you miss the part of if your file don't update to icloud drive?

Read that part again, and click the part of your iphone, ipad and ipod touch.
