SIM card got locked on my iPhone

I have put a sim card from an old phone in a used phone I got but the phone keeps giving me notifications that the sim card has been locked. How do I unlock it and get rid of that notification.

You will need the PUK (personal unblocking key) shipped with that specific sim card
