If you tried the remote restart procedure in If your Apple TV remote isn't working - Apple Support

then the issue is not likely in software in the remote (yes it has embedded software).


See the Service and Repair near the bottom of the page Apple TV - Official Apple Support. Or use the Get Support link a bit below that.


Buttons gets stuck
right click and center button hard to click.

Can you see a visible difference, like is it lower/​physically pressed down?
