Old apple ID required to connect to Apple Media Services

A few months ago, I started to get an error message daily that says:

"This Mac can't connect to Apple Media Services because of a problem with [email address]. Open Apple ID preferences to solve this problem".

Additional details:

• The email address listed is the address for a company that I worked for many years ago. I don't have access to the password.

• I haven't used the email address in years.

• When I open the Apple ID preferences, there is no reference to the old email address. The only Apple ID that appears is the account that I currently use (which I've used for many years).

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for another Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the other ID. Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. After deleting the apps, it may be necessary to restart the device/computer before you can download the apps again. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.

Thanks for your reply. It's challenging to use the Purchase History to try and find apps that would have been bought on the old ID since I can't log in with that ID. I can log in w/ my current ID, but the history doesn't go back far enough. Even if it did, reconciling the list would be difficult.

Is there a way to get the "purchased by" info for each app that I currently have installed?
