I saw another thread on this from March, but no answer to it. Lots of other people were having the same problem, so hoping a fix has been figured out now!
My CarPlay works for receiving and making phone calls (as long as I don’t need to ask Siri to dial), and Siri reads directions on Maps just fine. But she stopped reading and letting me dictate texts. It shows on the screen like she’s talking or listening, but there is no sound.

A. Pair in Park:
Try unpairing the phone. Then, pair it back. Perform this while in while in park.

See what the Owner's Manual of your car says when you read it.

A. Check for Firmware Updates:
If you've just updated your iPhone and this occurred, then it's the update giving you the issue here. The manufacturer (of the radio) likely has yet to do their part in making this compatible. See if there Is a way to update the radio's firmware. On Apple's end, leave them feedback on this, letting them know what has occurred....
B. Give Apple Feedback:
Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Siri & Search > Announce Notifications, then turn on Announce Notifications. Tap CarPlay, then choose any of the following: Announce New Messages: CarPlay starts your drive with Announce Messages active and reads your incoming text messages aloud.

What is the URL of that post you speak of?
2019 Honda Accord. The other thread I saw about this was a Jeep. Not sure if it’s the car, but maybe if several car manufacturers were experiencing it?
Any suggestions?
Unpairing unfortunately didn’t work. It’s worked for almost 3 years. Nothing has changed with my car. My iPhone is the only thing that has been updated.
