I suspect that if this is an option, it is one not available to the user. If it were a 'user accessible' setting, I would expect to find the setting and instructions in Numbers Preferences.

If the colour of this box presents a significant issue negatively affecting your use of Numbers, I would suggest suuending a Feature request to Apple and the Numbers team, using the Provide Numbers Feedback menu item in the Numbers menu.
