When logged on on my Google Account, google maps is infinitely slow.
When not logged into my Google Account, google maps loads instantly.
Problem appeared with the last Safari Update.
Does anyone know where the issue may lie?
Using Safari 15.5 (17613.2.7.1.8)

I'm sure it is. Since Google's purpose is to constantly harvest personal information from your Mac and sell it, perhaps Safari is making it difficult for them to do that whereas Firefox is not. The solution is not to sign in to your Google Account, or better yet don't use Google at all.
It appears that you correlated the problem to being logged in to your Google Account, so it is reasonable to conclude the issue lies with Google.
Since the problem doesn't occur on Firefox 102.0.1 the problems seems to lie in the interaction of Safari with Google. Hence my question on the Apple Forum ...
