What happens if I use an incompatible power adapter?

I've been looking forward to buy a macbook air that comes with a 67 W power adapter. I've read that the adapter is only compatible with mac devices. My question is, what would happen if I tried to use that adapter to charge an iPhone? Would it damage it or would it just charge it at a lower speed?

a ac charger that output 5volts and have a connector that fits the phone can never harm the device or it's battery no matter how many watt it is

Watt  is like how fast your car can drive, but the speed limit is how fast your car do drive

the iphone draw as much current as it was build to use when charging, the fact that

a charger can provide a lot more just means it's not having its full capacitive

used
