I would like to share contacts either by email or message. I put many personal items in the contact about a person and would not want that information shared when I send the contact electronically. Is there a way to make certain the "notes" about a person remain only with me when a contact is sent. I see how to do it from a mac but from iOS, the notes are included.

That is very disappointing. I found an old post about this topic in 2012 and the reply was that notes were not included. This tells me that something broke since then. I don’t think most people know that notes are shared with contact info.

The best way to do that is to create a duplicate contact without the notes. There is no way to share the contents of a contact selectively.
