Boot Camp assistant asking for a USB

I have MacBook Pro Catalina 2012, and I'm trying to install Windows 10 on it but it says I need a USB drive?? I'm confused as to why, is there a way around it? Anything I'm missing? Please help me, kinda slow here.

Thanks

Your MacBook requires Boot Camp installation from a USB stick because of its age. Any MacBook Pro after 2015 needs to have Windows installed externally.

You can find instructions for that here - Install Windows on your older Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support
