cleaning desktop

Hi, I just am setting up a new MacPro 14", the desk top is cluttered with a large number of folders, some containing photos etc. and I would like to move them to another but convenient location. My desk top is copied to iCloud and I would like the folders also copied to iCloud (but not on desktop).

How can I do this? and where to? Many thanks - Ray

You can keep them in both locations. If you make the folder and see a cloud with a down arrow, click on that cloud and it will also download to your computer too. If the folder doesn't have that cloud with the down arrow, then it's already on the computer's hard drive (as well as in iCloud).

I am basing this on your initial question. It sounds like you have a bunch of files/folders on your desktop and that everything currently is backed up on iCloud. So moving the files to another iCloud folder won't take much time or network to move.
