I forgot my password for updating my IPad

You can connect the iPad to iTunes on a Mac, or Windows computer, and first I would recommend backing up your device Locally, or to iCloud, to do that click the iPad icon when iPad is plugged in and click "Backup now", then you can click "Check for Update" You must have "Find my iPhone" off, and or know the Apple ID password, as Apple has very strong-security with Activation Lock. The only version the iPad Mini 4 can be updated to is iPadOS 15.5 (19F77), which is the only signed version of iPadOS for this device, Versions from iPadOS 15.4.1 are no longer signed by Apple, which means you cannot use a iPSW from 15.4.1 or below to update the iPad, with iTunes.
