I need to restore my ipad because I forgot my password but it requires to install an update and my harddrive is full so I cant complete the installation of the update.

No updated is needed to factory restore your ipad as outlined here If you forgot your iPad passcode - Apple Support
If you harddrive is full then delete data off it to make more storage.
