Travel Time Missing from iPhone Calendar

Hi all, I know there was another thread on this but it didn't resolve it for me, so I'm going to see if I can get more ideas. When I add an appointment in Calendar on my iPhone, I don't have the option of adding travel time. It's just simply not there. I have ensured that my location services are on for both maps and calendar, and am running the most current software, iOS 15.5. I don't have All Day accidentally turned on, and am familiar with using it as I always do when I set up an appt on my Mac. When I go into calendar settings, I can see that under the Default Alert Times, I do have "Time to leave" set on, but I want to be able to add the travel time manually. In the maps settings, I have my preferred mode of transit as driving. I am baffled why I don't have this option available in the Calendar app.

MrsMike921,

Can you clarify what type of account is having the issue? For example, an exchange account, iCloud, Gmail, or another. Also, if temporarily adding a different type of account to your iPhone do you see the option listed?

Also, as you've had the issue for years, and only have one account synced have you ever tested removing the Calendar app completely and reinstalling? If not, check out and test with the steps below.

Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

"Restore a built-in app that you deleted

  1. On your iOS or iPadOS device, go to the App Store.
  2. Search for the app. Make sure that you use the exact name of the app.
  3. Tap
  4. A cloud with an arrow pointing down from within the cloud.
  5.  to restore the app.
  6. Wait for the app to restore, then open it from your Home Screen."

Once restored with the steps above, add your account back, and test. Set up mail, contacts, and calendar accounts on iPhone - Apple Support

Best.

MrsMike921,

Let's troubleshoot the device itself. You can close out the Calendar app completely. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen pausing in the middle. Swipe left or right to locate the Calendar app preview. Swipe up on the preview to close out the app.

You can also restart your iPhone before relaunching the app since restarting can help resolve several issues we can face with our devices. To restart your iPhone, press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider and wait about 30 seconds. Press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears to power it back on. Once back on, test to see if this continues.

Hope that helps!

Hi MrsMike921, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that the option to add Travel Time data is not available on the Calendar app of your iPhone.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Are you using a managed device? Do you see a category called "Profile" under Settings > General?

Also, do you have a different Apple device that is signed in to the same Apple ID? If yes, are you experiencing a similar issue with your other device?

These details can help us in isolating the issue.

Do you have multiple mail accounts that are syncing Calendar events?

If yes, we recommend that you check if the issue is account-related.

Take care!
