I am the new administrator for my iMac. How do I change my (encryptions) password to unlock the G-Drive mobile usb disk.

iMac 21.5″ 4K, macOS 10.14

You'll need to get the encryption password from the previous administrator to unlock the G-Drive. Once opened, remove the encryption, re-encrypt with your own password. It'll take some time for each step.


Although I haven't done it, I believe a quicker way is once the G-Drive is opened, copy the files to another volume, erase and reformat the G-Drive, encrypt it and copy the files bak to the G-Drive.
