Whenever I try to phone someone from my iphone contact list I get the message “you have dialled an incorrect number “
Even though I know that it is correct.
If I manually punch in the numbers on the keypad it works first and every time.
Would you know what the problem is? Is it as someone has suggested something to do with Dial Assist? How can I correct this.

Glad it helped. Dial Assist can get confused if you add prefixes in front of numbers. For example, in the U.S., don't put the one in front of the 10-digit number. It will usually work if you do but, sometimes, it doesn't.
Have you tried turning Dial Assist off if it's on or on if it's off? Settings>Phone>Dial Assist
