Import playlist from iphone onto mac

Import playlist from iphone onto mac

My music library on my mac has become damaged. I tried very hard to restore it from the time machine (restoring old copies in ~/Music/Music/Music Library), but none of the old copies seem to work. The one thing I can think of is that my playlists are on my iphone 12 (iOS 15.5).

So my question is, how can I extract the playlist from my iphone back onto my mac? I'm a bit weary of plugging it in, in case the sync erases the playlists for good!

Thanks, but that is not why I need. That is about importing photos and videos. I need to import playlists.

Thanks but that is about moving the playlists from mac to iphone. I need to go in the opposite direction.

Export/Import as .XML File Format:

Connect: the iPhone to your computer
Select: The iPhone it in Music
Click: The grey-colored triangle next to the iPhone.
Select: the playlist
Right Click: on the Playlist
Select: "Export..."
Select: the Desktop
Save: the playlist as a .xml file to the Desktop
Open: Music
Click: File meniu
Hover: over Library
Select: Import Playlist...
Select: the .xml file you've just created on the desktop
Let the playlist upload

Sync this Through iCloud:

Enable Sync Music, and all should transfer between devices. Go here: Sync Music Between your Mac and iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
