even when i press the save button beside the video, hold it and try and save it, or even send it to different apps to save it from there, it doesn't work. I restarted my phone and the iMessage apps, I have plenty of storage and even deleted some photos.

Have you previously saved it to your iPhone? Oddly enough, I found that if you save media from Messages to your iPhone, then delete it, then try to save it again, it won't save properly.
As a workaround, try asking the other contact(s) in the message/message group to resend the video, if possible.

Messaging with viedos can take up lots of data. And your Carrier would know this. So, contact your Carrier, asking them for assistance with this, as they are the one who provide you with the service of Messing.
