Upgrading a special order iMac

I have a special order late 2014 iMac with 32g of RAM and an i7 chip. Even though it isn’t on your list I get a note saying upgrade to Monterey. Should I do this and would this allow me to use my iMac as a second monitor for my new Mac Studio. Thank you.

Mac mini with an older iMac as monitor? I have an iMac 27" late 2012 model. The drive is getting ready to crash. Can I connect a new Mac mini and use the older iMac as a monitor only, instead of replacing the whole thing? For home use, email, docs, web surfing, etc. No gaming or much streaming.

Extending displays using a MacBook Pro and Imac Hello, I have an old iMac that I want to use as a monitor for my Mac book. Unfortunately, I already upgraded it to Catalina. I know this would be easy if the old iMac was still on High Sierra or earlier. I try to reinstall High Sierra but the machine said it was too old a version to update. Is there an app I could install or something? I want it to extend the display not mirror it. Thanks for your help

The "note" to upgrade to Monterey is an error, but even if it wasn't, you cannot use any Mac as a monitor with a Mac Studio or any post-2019 Mac.
