Apple Watch 7 Password Entry

I've tried to enter my password after charging my Apple Watch 7. It does one of the following:

goes dark as soon as I try to enter a number

Goes dark after I enter two numbers

If I enter an 8, the watch shows a 7 has been entered (I've tried with my finger and a rubber pen.)

I've tried a restart three times now, no luck. I put it back on the charger, no luck. What do I do?

settings on apple watch stuck When I open the settings on my apple watch it shows a screen that says enter a trusted phone number to continue. My phone number is listed. At the top of the screen there is a "Cancel" button on the left and a "Next" button on the right. When I press either button if flashes but then nothing happens. I can exit the screen and go back to the apps screen by pushing the digital crown. Any idea what's going on?
