What happened to all my notes? They disappeared!

If you're missing notes on your iPhone, we'll need more information to see how we can help.

Were you using iCloud Notes or a third-party account for your notes? Did you recently sign out on your iPhone or remove any email accounts? If you go to iCloud.com, are you able to see your notes there?

If you do use third-party accounts for your notes, did you check the trash folder in the Mail app? The related article linked in blue at the top left corner of this page provides more information.

If you use notes with another service, like Gmail or Yahoo, check the Trash folder of that account in the Mail app. If you delete a note from the Notes app, your third-party account will usually keep it in the Trash folder. To recover a note from the Trash folder, you need to copy and paste the note to a new note in the Notes app.
