It keeps asking me to upgrade to Monterey but I already am

It's the strangest thing but my Macbookpro just got a message to upgrade to Monterey, but I already am - this makes no sense. It's asking me to download it. How can I get it to recognize that I've already done that?

Thank you for your reply, Rebelrona3126,

Very strange, as you say!

You may want to see if adjusting the settings in:

System Preferences > Software Updates > Advanced

will halt the notifications for the time being

Eg:

You might want to send feedback to Apple.

They likely won't reply, but if others are also seeing the same thing, they may act.

Hi Rebelrona3126

Could it be an update, rather than an upgrade ?

Monterey has had a few updates already, the latest being Monterey 12.4

What's new in the updates for macOS Monterey – Apple Support

You might want to check which Monterey version is installed on your Mac

Click the Black Apple icon on the left in the top menu >

Choose "About this Mac" from the dropdown menu.

If .you already have Monterey 12.4

Try going to System Preferences > Software Updates >

Does it say "Your Mac is up to date" ?

Else you might want to "Check for updates", so the system recognises it is up to date.

All the best :-)
