Dolby Atmos version of previously downloaded tracks (iTunes Match)

I have been using iTunes match since release and my library has an array of songs that have come from CDs, purchases etc.

Recently I started subscribing to Apple Music. What I want to know is whether there is a way to get an Apple Music version (including Atmos) of a track that has matched before using iTunes Match but there is an Atmos version on Apple Music. I have tried deleting download and re-downloading but doesnt appear to get Atmos version as the icon isnt showing on the playing screen.

Is there any other way to 'refresh' tracks rather than adding a duplicate Apple Music version? I tried sharing playlist with myself as I know that forces Apple Music version for other people but that didnt work eiter.

Hello Adeharding,

Do you have Dolby Atmos set up on the iPhone? If not, it wouldn't show you those versions until you enabled the feature on your iPhone: About Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos in Apple Music - Apple Support

Choose how to listen to Dolby Atmos on your iPhone or iPad

1. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Music.
4. Under Audio, tap Dolby Atmos.
5. Choose Automatic, Always On, or Off.

If you choose Automatic, here’s what you need

Supported songs automatically play in Dolby Atmos when you're listening with:

- AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirPods (3rd generation), or Beats Fit Pro with Spatial Audio turned on
AirPods (1st or 2nd generation)
- BeatsX, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats Pro, Beats Solo Pro, or Beats Studio Buds
- Any Bluetooth headphones that you categorize as headphones on your iPhone or iPad
- The built-in speakers on an iPhone XS or later (except iPhone SE), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation or later), iPad Pro 11-inch, or iPad Air (4th generation or later)

If you choose Always On, here’s what you need

If you want to use wired headphones, choose Always On.

If the issue continues, what type of headphones are you using or are you listening to this using your iPhone speakers? Does this happen with multiple albums and songs? As not all content is available in Dolby Atmos.

Hoping this helps out, take care.
