Could not mount (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49153.)

Still happening in 2022 on Monterey 12.4 with Macbook booted in Disk Target mode. I can't recover files from an old Macbook.


Anybody from Apple listening?

You are not talking to Apple, we are fellow users like you.


It seems that you are trying to mount one mac in target disk mode to another mac, but we need more details.


In order for any of us to be able to help, please explain in detail what your macs are, what you are trying to achieve, and how exactly you are connecting them - what precisely are the cables and adapters that you are using.

Also: what OS on each?
