Screen moving on its own

I NEED HELP

My 2020 MacBook Air cursor recently started moving on its own since April 2022. It would then go back to normal, then the cursor come back again. I currently use a logi mouse to help with the problem. Now it has gotten a lot worse. The screen and cursor keeps moving by itself. For example, when I am watching YouTube, my videos would randomly stop like every few minutes. My screen would also sometimes randomly zoom in and out. There are also so many other crazy things happening. My macbook is like unusable now. I have only had this laptop for 2 years. :( I don’t want to get a knee laptop because this one is still quite new. Please help. What should I do?

Salutations E-N-T123,

Does the issue persist with the external mouse disconnected? We ask that to determine if what’s happening is related to the external mouse, the internal trackpad or perhaps both.

Please also be sure to boot to safe mode and test things there as well. How to use safe mode on your Mac This article breaks things down by either Apple silicon or Intel processor. Just keep an eye on that as the procedure of how to get to safe mode changes.

Then lastly, for our initial troubleshooting, can you check to see if this happens when using a new admin user on your Mac? Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Thanks.
